In 1971, a group of hippie protesters who were unhappy with the commercialization of Christmas break into the North Pole and dismantle it.What would happen if a group of hippies broke into Santa's workshop? That is the premise behind this comedy-adventure film from 1971. While raiding for presents, they accidentally cause Santa to fall ill and need a replacement immediately. When no one volunteers to take his place, they kidnap an Elf from New York City to do so. The elf, named Patch, does not want to be a bad Santa, but after hearing that the hippies are near Bethlehem with their own agenda, Patch must step up to save Christmas.The film features several popular B-list actors of the time including Brenda Vaccaro, George Gobel who plays himself as Santa's sidekick. The film was the first feature for Shari Eubank who plays one of the kidnappers. It also featured an unknown Robin Williams in a small role as an elf.
The film is now lost. Warner Bros holds the rights to this movie but no print is known to exist.
